Allegations of theft and a serious sexual offense have surfaced involving three crew members from Virgin Australia who are currently staying at a hotel in Nadi, Fiji. Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew confirmed that the incidents took place during a night out early this morning.

The airline crew members are currently isolated and confined to their rooms at Hotel Tanoa. Additionally, a management team from Virgin will be arriving in Nadi tomorrow to conduct an independent investigation into the matter. The families of the crew members are also traveling to Fiji in light of the situation.

Commissioner Chew stated, “We confirm police are investigating the Australian airline crew case as they were victims of theft and of allegations of rape after clubbing.” He reassured that the police are dedicated to ensuring a safe environment for both Fijians and visitors during this festive season and encouraged community vigilance.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety and accountability, particularly in a festive atmosphere where individuals may let their guard down. It emphasizes the collective responsibility of watching out for one another, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their time safely and securely.

Providing support to the involved crew members and their families during this distressing time is crucial. It is hoped that a thorough investigation will lead to clarity and justice in the matter.
