Police are currently investigating an alleged sexual assault involving a male student reportedly attacked by a group of male peers at a school on Vanua Levu. The incident is said to have occurred at a school facility in Cakaudrove.
Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew confirmed that a report regarding the case has been received and that an investigation is ongoing. The individuals involved, including both the victim and the alleged perpetrators, are aged between 14 and 17, and the assault is claimed to have happened within the school’s boarding dormitory.
As of the latest updates, inquiries sent to Selina Kuruleca, the permanent secretary of the Education Ministry, have not received a response.
