Applications are now being accepted for the 2025 Prime Minister’s International Business Awards (PMIBA), with businesses of all sizes encouraged to participate. The awards acknowledge organizations that excel in various areas including export growth, service delivery, sustainability practices, workforce development, and leadership.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and MSMEs, Manoa Kamikamica, has reiterated the significance of these awards, stating that they represent the highest recognition of business excellence in Fiji. He emphasized the importance of honoring those businesses that demonstrate not only commercial success but also resilience, sustainability, and a positive impact on their communities. “This year’s theme reflects the journey many of our businesses have taken in transforming challenges into opportunities. PMIBA 2025 is a platform to celebrate these achievements and to inspire future business leaders,” said Mr. Kamikamica.

The theme for this year’s awards is ‘Navigating Global Winds – Resilience, Innovation and Sustainable Growth.’ Consistent with previous years, the awards will retain 14 categories, which feature the Supreme Award, the Premier Small, Medium and Large Business Operating Internationally Awards, and recognitions for excellence in innovation, e-commerce transformation, sustainability initiatives, and employer of the year, among others.

Special recognition awards will also be given to business leaders in the Fijian diaspora who have achieved significant milestones internationally and contributed to Fiji’s economic development. Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty highlighted the crucial role of the Fijian diaspora in expanding the nation’s global presence, reinforcing economic ties and highlighting collaborative investment opportunities.

The deadline for applications is July 25, and the awards ceremony is scheduled for later this year. This year’s awards promise not only to honor exceptional business practices but also to continue fostering a spirit of innovation and sustainability among Fijian enterprises.

This initiative serves as a beacon of hope, encouraging businesses to adapt and thrive amid challenges while striving for sustainable growth—key aspects that will undoubtedly play a vital role in shaping Fiji’s economic future.
