Suva Grammar School secured the Vodafone Deans U16 Finals title with a convincing 29-12 victory over Lelean Memorial School during an exciting match at the HFC Bank Stadium.
SGS established dominance early in the game, scoring a converted try in the first quarter. LMS quickly equalized with a converted try of their own, but SGS quickly took the lead again, scoring another try in the 16th minute to make it 12-7.
By halftime, SGS had increased their lead to 19-7 after executing a well-timed try and conversion.
In the second half, SGS maintained their commanding performance, even though they had a try disallowed. They continued to apply pressure, scoring another try to extend their advantage to 24-7.
LMS did manage to reach the scoreboard again with another try, narrowing the gap to 24-12. However, SGS capped off their victory with a final try and conversion in the final moments of the match, concluding it at 29-12.
