Suva Grammar School secured the Vodafone Deans U16 Finals title with a convincing 29-12 victory over Lelean Memorial School in an exciting match held at the HFC Bank Stadium.
SGS started strong, scoring a converted try in the first quarter. LMS quickly responded, leveling the match with their own converted try. However, SGS regained the advantage with another try in the 16th minute, leading 12-7.
By halftime, SGS had increased their lead to 19-7 with a well-executed try and conversion. The second half saw SGS maintaining their dominance, even as one of their tries was disallowed. They continued to push forward and scored again, extending the score to 24-7.
LMS responded with another try, bringing the score to 24-12, but SGS finished decisively with a final try and conversion in the waning moments of the game, concluding the match at 29-12.
