Weather Update from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi
Issued at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, July 22, 2025

Attention, everyone! We’ve got an easterly wind flow that’s about to spoil us with some moody weather as a low-pressure trough approaches from the west—think of it as Mother Nature trying to shake off the winter blues.

So, prepare your umbrellas and don’t be surprised if you start to look like a wet dog! Showers are expected to crash the party from today through to tomorrow across the Fiji group, including Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, and many others. If you’ve got plans in Rakiraki or Kadavu, well, pack a raincoat just in case!

We might even see isolated thunderstorms throwing a little tantrum as they spread from the west. Don’t worry, though; just think of it as nature’s way of putting on a dramatic show! Here’s the kicker: some localized heavy downpours may lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas, so steer clear of the puddles if you can!

By tomorrow, the rain should start to ease up, making room for a gradual return to those lovely moderate easterly winds. Seas will be moderate, so no need to worry about your beach plans—unless you’re planning to go swimming in a downpour!

Here’s a sneak peek at Thursday: expect cloudy spells with some showers over various regions, like the Sigatoka-Korolevu area, while other parts might just bask in the sun. Cool nights will help keep the mosquitoes at bay.

Forecast Highlights:
