Heads up, folks! It’s Raining Cats and Dogs season in Fiji, as a HEAVY RAIN ALERT is still very much in force for the entire Fiji Group. No, you can’t swim in it, so please avoid diving into those puddles like they’re the next great aqua park!
Here’s the scoop: a reluctant trough of low pressure is stalled over the southern parts of Fiji with clouds and rain playing tag. To keep things lively, it’s spicing up our northwesterly winds, delivering a mix of occasional rain to most parts of our beautiful country.
What to Expect Until Midnight Tomorrow:
For Kadavu, Moala Group, and the Southern Lau group: Expect a mix of occasional rain, heavy at times, and maybe a few thunderstorms – if we’re lucky, it might just gather the whole cast of a weather drama!
For Viti Levu’s interior, including locations from Sigatoka to Suva, and southern Vanua Levu: Cloudy periods may become a shower party, ramping up to frequent rain and perhaps a ‘thunderous’ encore in the afternoon or evening.
For the rest of Fiji: Think of occasional rain with some surprise heavy showers and possibly a spectacle of thunderstorms. Be wary of localized heavy falls that could conspire to create flash flooding in those pesky low-lying areas.
Winds will be moderate and could get gusty in spots where heavy rain is making a scene. Seas will also be moderate but can turn rough in any squalls, so hold on to your hats… or umbrellas!
Looking Ahead to Sunday:
Expect a remix of those rain sounds: heavy at times with flashing thunderstorms over Kadavu, the Western Division, and its interior. Elsewhere? More occasional rain and a chance of slapping thunderheads.
Specific Locations:
For Navua/Suva/Nausori: Get ready for the cloud and shower drama escalating into a rain saga by the afternoon or evening with possible thunderstorms – sounds like a classic weather blockbuster!
For Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Occasional rain will try to steal the spotlight, bringing along some unexpected heavy falls.
For the rest of our delightful coastal towns like Sigatoka and Coral Coast: Prepare for cloudy episodes followed by varying rain intensities – expect it all to intensify come evening!
For Tavua/Rakiraki, Yasawa/Mamanuca, and Labasa: You guessed it! Occasional rain with surprise heavy falls and thunder storms are on the agenda too.
For Savusavu: The script calls for cloudy periods, with showers rising in intensity through the afternoon and possible thunderstorms to spice things up!
For Lau/Lomaiviti: Occasional rain will stage a performance, heavy at times, with some startling thunderstorms over the southern Lau group.
For glorious Rotuma: Hold on tight, as the clouds and rain take center stage, with occasional heavy falls and the chance for booming thunder in the mix!
So buckle up, grab that raincoat, and navigate those puddles one stylish splash at a time – because it’s looking like a wet and wild few days ahead!
