Weather Update

Greetings from the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi! Grab your umbrellas and raincoats, folks—Mother Nature is making a splash, and we’re all invited!

Right now, we have a low-pressure trough cruising over the country, ready to give our region a good drenching. Picture it drifting eastward like a lazy river, bringing along clouds, showers, and a good chance of rain until tomorrow. Don’t forget your galoshes!

For those of you in Kadavu and the neighboring islands, plus the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, expect some occasional rain and the odd thunderstorm—because who doesn’t love a good light show? The weather isn’t shy; it’s expected to spread its wetness to the western and interior parts of Viti Levu, including places like Sigatoka, Momi, Nadi, Ba, Tavua, and Rakiraki. And just a heads-up: localised heavy falls could turn into flash floods in those low-lying areas, so keep your floaties handy!

As we glide into midnight, the rain will gradually ease from the west, but tonight you can enjoy a gusty easterly wind that might just whisk away any outdoor plans you had in mind. Expect moderate seas, perfect for those who prefer their adventures on land.

Looking ahead to Thursday, it’ll be mostly cloudy with showers hanging over official business where you’d most want to be outside—Sigatoka, Korolevu, and Navua-Suva, just to name a few. But worry not, as other regions are expected to bask in fine weather, making their neighbors quite envious. It’ll be cool at night—perfect for cozy blankets and nighttime snacks.

Here’s a quick rundown for your area:

– Navua/Suva/Nausori: Occasional showers will rain on your parade tonight with thunderstorms joining the party—then they’ll slowly ease up tomorrow. Tomorrow’s temps: Min: 22, Max: 27. And brace yourself for a cooler Thursday!

– Nadi/Lautoka/Ba: Expect the rain and thunder show to continue, but the curtain will finally drop tomorrow. Tomorrow’s temps: Min: 22, Max: 29. Thursday brings drier weather—hooray!

– Sigatoka/Coral Coast: More rain and thunder with a welcoming shift toward clearer skies by tomorrow. Tomorrow’s temps: Min: 21, Max: 28. Thursday, enjoy those clouded periods and be cool at night!

– Tavua/Rakiraki: Rain and occasional thunderstorms will keep your spirits up—hopefully not too soaked. Tomorrow’s low: 21, high: 29. Thursday looks fabulous!

– Yasawa/Mamanuca: Showers might interrupt your beach plans tonight, but expect some easing tomorrow. Tomorrow’s Min: 22, Max: 27. Thursday will be just fine, with a bit of coolness at night.

– And for everyone else in Labasa, Savusavu, Lau, Lomaiviti, Kadavu, and Rotuma, you’re in for some occasional rain, possibly dramatic thunderstorms, but things should settle down by tomorrow.

Stay tuned, keep those romantic plans under cover, and remember that every cloud has a silver lining—especially if you look closely enough!
