Weather Update: Get Ready for a Splash!

Brought to you directly from the crystal ball at the National Weather Forecasting Centre in Nadi, where our forecasters are probably sipping coffee and overthinking this weather report.

As of 5:30 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, the situation is as follows: a breezy northeasterly wind is joyfully blowing over us while a sneaky trough of low pressure is making its way from the west. Yes, you guessed it— that means it’s time to break out those umbrellas, folks! We’re expecting a parade of clouds and a chance of showers to roll in later today.

Forecast until midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Expect some showers and the occasional sizzling thunderstorm to crash the party over Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Rakiraki, Kadavu, and the lovely small islands nearby. Not to be left out, Cakaudrove, Eastern Macuata, Taveuni, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups will also join the rain fest. Elsewhere, just a little bit of cloudiness with brief showers during the afternoon or evening.

Tonight, showers will also throw on their heavy rain outfits complete with flash flooding potential, especially in those low-lying areas— so keep an eye out! Gentle to moderate northeasterly winds will transition into a more southerly breeze tomorrow, swinging things up a bit. Meanwhile, moderate seas are on the table.

Looking into Wednesday’s crystal ball: the skies will be partly cloudy, with those cheeky brief showers continuing to flirt over the same spots while others, unbothered, enjoy primarily fine weather. And guess what? Nights will be cool enough for a cardigan!
