Weather Update

Attention, residents and visitors! The weather wizards at the National Weather Forecasting Centre have conjured up a colorful forecast for us today. A breezy northeasterly wind is blowing across the group, making it an ideal day for kite flying—if those kites aren’t made of paper!

However, just as you’re about to step out, a mischievous trough of low pressure is sneaking up from the west, dragging along a cloud cover filled with showers and rain. Yes, it seems the drama will unfold from today until tomorrow, so grab your umbrellas, folks; it’s about to rain cats and dogs.

Here’s what you can expect for the Fiji group:

Today, expect showers to shower love (well, rain) upon Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Tailevu-Naitasiri-Ra, Rakiraki, Kadavu, and the neighboring islands. The clouds are throwing a party, and they’ve invited everyone! Occasional rain and a few isolated thunderstorms are gearing up to make their grand entrance from the west later in the day. Don’t be surprised if they crash the party with isolated heavy falls, leading to a game of ‘dodge the puddle’ in low-lying areas!

Rain will gradually ease from the west by tomorrow’s end, while moderate northeasterly winds come and go like that one friend who’s never on time to the party.

Thursday’s forecast is looking a bit more civilized—cloudy periods and some showers for Sigatoka-Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, and the usual suspects, but a good chance to flaunt that sunblock elsewhere—enjoy the mainly fine weather before the night brings a cool breeze.

And a quick peek at specific locations:

For Navua / Suva / Nausori: Rain is on the agenda today, with highs reaching a cozy 27°C. Tomorrow, we’ll see a temperature dip, with a low of 22°C dropping into a similar maximum. Thursday? More cloudy periods and a refreshing night, with lows at 19°C and a high of 27°C.

Over in Nadi / Lautoka / Ba: It’s a cloudy forecast with rain rolling in, reaching a peak of 29°C. Tomorrow brings a minimum of 22°C. By Thursday, enjoy a mainly fine day with a cool night at 18°C and a high of 28°C.

If you’re heading to Sigatoka/Coral Coast, expect clouds with rain and thunderstorms. A comfortable 29°C today, falling to 21°C overnight. And yes, more showers and thunderstorms are lined up for Thursday!

For our friends in Tavua/Rakiraki and Natadradave/Korovou, the rain will keep you company, with highs around 29°C today, dipping down to a cozy 21°C. Just think of it as nature’s way of giving you an excuse to cozy up!

As you wander to warmer shores like Yasawa/Mamanuca, expect showers and beautiful beach days—high of 27°C with a nighttime low of 22°C.

In Rotuma: The island will see a mix of occasional showers and isolated thunderstorms, so pack your good luck charms as the high reaches 28°C before dipping to a night temp of 23°C.

So, suit up, Fijian friends! Enjoy the weather, rain or shine, and remember, every cloud has a silver lining… even if it’s just your new favorite raincoat!
