Weather Update
Well, folks, grab your umbrellas and possibly some flotation devices because we’ve got a heavy rain alert in full swing for southern and eastern Viti Levu. That means the party zones—Momi, Sigatoka, Korolevu, Serua-Namosi, Navua-Suva-Nausori, Naitasiri, and more—are in for quite the drenching. And let’s not forget the islanders of Kadavu and the Crew from Lau and Lomaiviti who’ll need to channel their inner dolphins as rain splashes down.
Now, if you’re in Kadavu or the nearby islands, expect some strong winds. Think of it as nature’s way of giving your hair an avant-garde styling treatment—gusty winds averaging about 45 km/hr might have you thinking a wild hair day is the latest trend.
Tonight’s forecast consists of cloud cover, surprise showers, and the potential for a thunderous encore. Expect the rain to creep in from the west and spread like a gossiping friend through the rest of Fiji. If your plants are thirsty, they’re about to have their fill!
Tomorrow, Kadavu and pals can anticipate those northwesterly winds continuing to blow with all the force of a toddler determined to steal your snacks—averaging 45 km/hr with gusts going up to 55 km/hr. The rest of Fiji won’t be spared either, as we’re looking at an all-day rain spectacle, with heavy showers and a scattered chance of thunderstorms—perfect for dramatic storytelling at dinner parties.
No need to panic, though! We’re expecting a breather on Thursday. While cloudy periods and possible showers stick around, the sun is probably just playing hard to get, peeking out now and then to keep us guessing.
Temperature-wise, expect some familiar friends: maximums hovering around 28-30 degrees Celsius, while the nights will cool down just enough to cuddle up (or snuggle with your pet if that’s your thing).
So stay safe, embrace the weather’s whims, and make sure to avoid those low-lying areas—flash floods are not on anyone’s wishlist! And remember, if life gives you rain, grab your raincoat and splash around like a kid!
