The National Weather Forecasting Centre has issued a severe thunderstorm warning affecting the eastern regions of Viti Levu. Areas under alert include Nuku to Deuba, Suva, Buretu, Korovou, Dawasamu, Nakarotubu, Nalawa, Navatusila, Naikoro, as well as other interior locations on the island.

Residents are urged to take precautions, which include the following:

a) Steer clear of flooded creeks and drains to ensure safety.
b) Avoid walking, biking, or driving through any floodwaters, as this can be dangerous.
c) Unplug any computers and electrical appliances to prevent damage from power surges.
d) Remain indoors, keeping windows closed, and ensure that children and pets are also kept safely inside.
e) Stay alert and continuously monitor weather conditions for updates.
