Hold on to your umbrellas, folks! A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING is currently in play for our friends in the interior parts of Viti Levu, starting from Sigatoka and stretching through Navua, all the way to Suva and Korovou. Also, let’s not forget the charming southern regions of Vanua Levu and southern Bua who are also invited to this rain party!

For even more information (and to avoid a game of telephone), check out the severe thunderstorm warning on the website. You know you want to!

Now, onto the heavy rain alert! Yes, we’re talking about Kadavu, the Moala Group, the Southern Lau, and the Western Division, not to mention other charming locales like Northern Bua and Macuata Province. They’re all set to see some heavy rain—because who doesn’t love a good downpour?

Here’s the lowdown: A slow-moving trough of low pressure is hanging out over the southern parts of Fiji like that friend who overstays their welcome. It’s bringing along some moisture and a chance of rain for the entire country starting later today.

From now until midnight tomorrow, expect occasional rain—heavy at times—with a few thunderstorms lighting up the sky, especially over Kadavu, the Moala Group, and the Southern Lau group.

For those in the interior parts of Viti Levu, Navua to Suva, and various southern spots in Vanua Levu, you might see some sunshine today, but don’t get too cozy—thunderstorms are likely to crash the party this afternoon, and tomorrow looks to be a cloudy, rain-filled affair.

Cloudy periods with scattered showers and islands of thunder are likely in the Lomaiviti and Lau groups as well, with rain making a triumphant entrance by later today.

And for the rest of you lucky folks? Enjoy the fine weather, at least until afternoon showers and thunderstorms roll in—a classic case of “Just when you think it’s safe to put the umbrella away!” Expect those cute little showers to turn into heavy rain starting later today.

Looking ahead to Saturday, prepare for occasional rain over the Western Division and parts north like Macuata and Northern Bua—thunderstorms love to tag along too! We’re talking localised heavy downpours that could lead to flash flooding in low-lying areas.

In Navua and Suva, expect some fine spells, but save some love for your umbrellas later on, as thunderstorms and showers are set to take the stage!

Meanwhile, Nadi, Lautoka, and Ba: you’ll enjoy some fine weather too—until those afternoon showers and thunderstorms decide they want to join the scene!

For Sigatoka and Tavua/Rakiraki, it’s more of the same: some sun, then thunderstorms with heavy showers crashing in.

To our island friends in Yasawa/Mamanuca, you might stay dry, but don’t let your guard down, as isolated afternoon thunderstorms could sneak in.

And lovely Labasa, just like the others, will experience pleasant weather with the chance of afternoon showers.

Savusavu could also see some heavy afternoon fun with thunderstorms, while for the Lau and Lomaiviti groups, expect rain, a bit hearty at times, and a few thunderstorms to jazz up the skies.

To wrap it all up: Kadavu folks, prepare for occasional rain, and don’t forget those thunderstorms as well!

On Rotuma, hang tight as a trough of low pressure rolls by with cloudy periods, a few showers, and moderate north winds.

As we approach Saturday, expect more intermittent showers, with your typical hefty thunderstorms making an appearance.

Remember, folks—stay dry and keep your ducks in a row when these showers come knocking on your door!
