Severe Flooding Hits Fiji: Homes Underwater as Rain Continues

Heavy rainfall overnight in the Eastern Division has led to significant flooding across several regions of the country, with many homes submerged under water. In Wailoku, residents continue to grapple with submerged properties while others work to clear debris. According to the Fiji Meteorological Services, intense rainfall persists in the Eastern Division, causing flash flooding in many low-lying areas. The Nadi Weather Office attributes the current weather conditions to a trough of low pressure moving slowly eastward over Fiji. Showers linked to this system are expected to remain in affected areas until later today, while other divisions may see partly cloudy skies with occasional showers. Additional updates will be provided as the situation develops.
