The upcoming McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament, taking place from January 16 to 18, 2025, at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka, is generating significant excitement as it may mark the farewell appearance of rugby legends Jerry Tuwai and Rosko Specman. These iconic players will unite as part of the Mike Friday Select 7s team during this much-anticipated event.

Jerry Tuwai, widely respected for his extraordinary skills and leadership, is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and former World Rugby Sevens Player of the Year. Recently, he secured a silver medal at the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024. Tuwai’s legacy in Fiji rugby embodies faith, humility, and flair, capturing the essence of the sport.

On the other hand, Rosko Specman, affectionately known as “Specmagic,” shot to prominence for his remarkable speed and agility during the 2017/2018 HSBC World Series, playing a pivotal role in South Africa’s success. He has successfully transitioned to 15s rugby, demonstrating his versatility by competing for the Cheetahs in the Pro 14 competition. Specman also earned bronze medals at both the Rio and Paris Olympics, highlighting his prominent place in international rugby.

This tournament will serve as a special occasion as it marks the first time Tuwai and Specman will play together as teammates, after years of facing each other across the pitch.
