Seven individuals were apprehended during a drug operation conducted in Waqadra, Nadi on Thursday. Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Livai Driu, reported that authorities confiscated several ziplock bags containing crystalline substances suspected to be methamphetamine, as well as a bag containing a white powder believed to be cocaine.
In addition to the drugs, more than $300 thought to be proceeds from criminal activities was also seized during the raid. ACP Driu noted that there have been several other arrests made this past week across various locations, including behind the Labasa market, Tomuka in Lautoka, Dreketi Settlement and Varadoli in Ba, as well as on Nasivi Street in Tavua, Nanuku Settlement, and in Samabula for unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the region, promoting community safety and resilience against drug abuse.
