Fijian rugby icon Waisale Serevi is set to take the lead as the head coach of the Fijian Drua 7s team during the upcoming McDonald’s Fiji Coral Coast 7s tournament from January 16 to 18 at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. This noteworthy appointment marks Serevi’s return to coaching a Fijian team after a 16-year absence, a chance he describes as both an “honor and a privilege.”

Joining Serevi on the coaching staff will be Sam Speight, the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Swire Shipping Fijian Drua. Glen Jackson, the Drua’s head coach, expressed excitement about the tournament, highlighting the opportunity for the team to showcase their talents and gain valuable experience competing against top sevens players, particularly as many of them are more familiar with the 15s format.
