Tailevu Naitasiri, Nasinu, and Lami FC have secured their spots in the semi-finals of the 2024 FMF Inter-District Championship Premier Division, which will take place on Saturday.
During a Group A match earlier in the day, Lami FC and Nasinu FC ended in a 1-1 draw. This result left Nasinu, Bua, and Lami all tied with two points each and the same goal difference. However, based on Fair Play points, Nasinu FC was ranked at the top of Group A, with Lami FC as the runner-up.
The semi-final lineup has been set, with Tailevu Naitasiri facing Lami FC in the first match. The second semi-final clash will be determined by the outcome of the match between Savusavu FC and Tavua FC, scheduled for later today, which will decide who faces Nasinu.
In Group B, Nadi FC preserved their semi-final hopes with a convincing 4-1 victory against Nadroga. The team, coached by Raj Dayal, led 2-0 at halftime thanks to goals from Siotame Kubu and Ratu Tulivou. Although Semesa Sacere scored for Nadroga, additional goals from Ereniko Matau and Kubu secured the win for Nadi.
Nadi’s coach expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance and looked forward to the results of the Rewa vs Ba match. Meanwhile, Nadroga’s interim coach Sunil Kumar noted that the final score did not accurately reflect the match, as his team had several missed opportunities.
