Authorities are looking into a break-in that took place at the official residence of the Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Service in Nasese. Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro confirmed that the incident happened on September 29, despite the property being well-fenced and guarded by personnel from the Fiji Corrections Service. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the case.
FCS Commissioner Jalesi Nakarawa stated that a room was ransacked during the break-in, and valuable traditional artefacts, specifically a whale’s tooth or tabua, were taken. He also noted that there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident.
