This week, we revisit the fascinating journey of John Kamea as he explored the enigmatic Yacata Island, as featured in an article from The Fiji Times published in March 2021.
Early in the morning, with the sun still gentle, Kamea and his team commenced their ascent towards the highest point of Yacata Island, known as Korolevu. This location is steeped in history, originally home to the Kakabale fortress established by the island’s tribes long before European colonization.
