The New South Wales Police Force has announced its ongoing efforts to find a Fijian man who went missing on Sunday while swimming in the Murrumbidgee River, located in the southern part of the state. Emergency services were alerted to the situation at Middle Beach, Yanco, when they received reports concerning the missing 32-year-old.
Police from the Murrumbidgee Police District, supported by NSW Ambulance, the State Emergency Service (SES), and the Volunteer Rescue Association, launched an extensive search for the individual. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, they were unable to locate him. The search had to be halted around 8 PM due to declining light conditions and the hazardous state of the river.
Authorities are continuing their search and are appealing to the public for any information that might help in locating the man. This plea for community involvement underscores the importance of collective efforts during such critical times.
It is essential for those in the area to remain vigilant and report any sightings or relevant information that may aid the rescue teams. The hope remains strong that with continued search efforts and public assistance, this individual will be found safely.
