The New South Wales Police Force has announced that efforts are ongoing to locate a Fijian man reported missing in the Murrumbidgee River in the southern region of the state. As stated by the authorities, emergency services were alerted on Sunday to Middle Beach, Yanco, after receiving notifications about the disappearance of a 32-year-old man in the river.
Officers from the Murrumbidgee Police District, along with support from NSW Ambulance, the State Emergency Service (SES), and the Volunteer Rescue Association, conducted a thorough search operation. Unfortunately, they were unable to find the man, and the search was paused around 8 p.m. due to deteriorating visibility and hazardous river conditions.
Police are actively seeking assistance from the public with any information that could lead to locating the missing individual. This ongoing search demonstrates the commitment and collaboration of various emergency services in responding to missing person cases.
In times of distress, community support can play a crucial role. It’s hopeful to note that local residents are encouraged to contribute any leads that may assist in the search, reinforcing a sense of community in times of uncertainty.
