Scouts Rally for Equality and Community Impact at National Jamboree 2024

All scouts in Fiji have been urged to engage in initiatives promoting gender equality across all programs and to assist vulnerable groups, especially the elderly, as emphasized by President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere.

During the opening of the National Scout Jamboree 2024 at Lawaqa Park, which saw participation from over 2,200 scouts, leaders, and volunteers, President Katonivere highlighted that scout jamborees serve as opportunities for building friendships and allowing scouts to showcase their talents in various skills such as cooking, cleaning, knot-tying, and hiking.

He acknowledged the contributions of scout leaders, most of whom are educators, for their continuous mentorship and leadership.

“Although it is a notable sacrifice, as scouts, we have committed to this aim to help our youth grow into responsible citizens in the future,” he stated.
