Scotland Women’s Head Coach Bryan Easson has made significant changes to the lineup for their final match of the Vodafone Series against Fijiana on Sunday, with eight new players and one positional switch.
Anne Young and Elliann Clarke are set to make their starting debuts for Scotland at loosehead and tighthead prop, respectively, while Lana Skeldon remains at hooker. The second row will feature Louise McMillan and Sarah Bonar.
In a revamped back row, captain Rachel Malcolm will play alongside Rachel McLachlan, with Jade Konkel returning to her usual position at number eight.
In the backs, Meryl Smith transitions from center to stand-off, forming a half-back partnership with Caity Mattinson, who is back in action after recovering from a serious neck injury sustained during the Guinness Six Nations this year.
Lisa Thomson, following her appearance at the Olympics with Great Britain Sevens, returns to the starting XV at inside center, having missed last week’s victory over Wales. Emma Orr will continue as outside center.
The back three features Coreen Grant, Chloe Rollie—who scored two tries against Wales—and fellow Sevens player Rhona Lloyd.
On the bench, forwards Elis Martin, Lisa Cockburn, Christine Belisle, Eva Donaldson, and Evie Gallagher are positioned to make a difference, while backs include last weekend’s debutants Leia Brebner-Holden and Lucia Scott, along with experienced Helen Nelson, who can provide support if necessary.
The match will be streamed live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app in the UK, as well as on the Scottish Rugby website for international audiences.
