Scotland Women’s Team Set for Major Shake-Up Ahead of Fijiana Clash

Scotland Women’s Head Coach Bryan Easson has made significant modifications to the starting lineup for their final Vodafone Series match against Fijiana on Sunday, implementing eight personnel changes and one positional adjustment.

Anne Young and Elliann Clarke are set to debut as Scotland’s loosehead and tighthead props, respectively, while Lana Skeldon retains her position as hooker. Louise McMillan and Sarah Bonar will make up the second row.

In the back row, captain Rachel Malcolm joins Rachel McLachlan, and Jade Konkel returns to her traditional role at number eight. In the backs, Meryl Smith shifts from center to stand-off, creating a half-back pairing with Caity Mattinson, who is back in action following a serious neck injury sustained earlier this year during the Guinness Six Nations.

Lisa Thomson, fresh from her participation in the Olympics with GB Sevens, returns to the lineup at inside center after missing the previous game against Wales. Emma Orr will keep her place at outside center.

The back three features Coreen Grant, Chloe Rollie—who scored twice against Wales—and Sevens specialist Rhona Lloyd.

On the bench, forwards Elis Martin, Lisa Cockburn, Christine Belisle, Eva Donaldson, and Evie Gallagher are prepared to contribute, while the backs include last weekend’s debutants Leia Brebner-Holden and the impressive Lucia Scott, alongside Helen Nelson, who is available to provide stability if required.

Viewers can catch the match live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app in the UK, as well as on the Scottish Rugby website for international audiences.

Scotland’s squad for the match includes Chloe Rollie, Rhona Lloyd, Emma Orr, Lisa Thomson, Coreen Grant, Meryl Smith, Caity Mattinson; Anne Young, Lana Skeldon, Elliann Clarke, Louise McMillan, Sarah Bonar, Rachel Malcolm, Rachel McLachlan, and Jade Konkel. Replacements are Elis Martin, Lisa Cockburn, Christine Belisle, Eva Donaldson, Evie Gallagher, Leia Brebner-Holden, Helen Nelson, and Lucia Scott.
