Scotland Women’s Head Coach Bryan Easson has announced significant changes to the starting lineup ahead of their final Vodafone Series match against Fijiana on Sunday, making eight personnel adjustments and one positional switch.
Anne Young and Elliann Clarke will be making their first starts for Scotland in the loosehead and tighthead prop positions, respectively. Lana Skeldon will remain at hooker, with Louise McMillan and Sarah Bonar taking the spots in the second row.
Captain Rachel Malcolm will lead a revamped back row, teaming up with Rachel McLachlan, while Jade Konkel returns to her usual number eight role.
In the backline, Meryl Smith transitions from center to stand-off, partnering with Caity Mattinson, who makes her return after recovering from a serious neck injury sustained during the Guinness Six Nations earlier this year.
Lisa Thomson, returning after her Olympic appearance with GB Sevens, will take on the inside centre position, having missed last weekend’s victory over Wales. Emma Orr will continue in the outside centre role.
The back three is composed of Coreen Grant, Chloe Rollie—who scored two tries against Wales last Friday—and another seasoned Sevens player, Rhona Lloyd.
On the bench, forwards Elis Martin, Lisa Cockburn, Christine Belisle, Eva Donaldson, and Evie Gallagher are prepared to contribute, while the back replacements include last weekend’s debutants Leia Brebner-Holden and the notable Lucia Scott, alongside the experienced Helen Nelson who can offer stability if needed.
The match will be broadcast live on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app in the UK, as well as on the Scottish Rugby website for international viewers.
