Scotland Women Revamp Squad for Fijiana Showdown

Scotland Women’s Head Coach Bryan Easson has made significant changes to the team ahead of their final Vodafone Series match against Fijiana on Sunday, announcing eight personnel changes and one positional switch in the starting lineup.

Anne Young and Elliann Clarke will earn their first starting positions as loosehead and tighthead props, respectively, with Lana Skeldon remaining at hooker. Louise McMillan and Sarah Bonar will fill the second row.

The back row sees captain Rachel Malcolm joining Rachel McLachlan, while Jade Konkel returns to her traditional number eight position.

In the backs, Meryl Smith shifts from center to stand-off, partnering with Caity Mattinson, who makes a comeback after recovering from a serious neck injury sustained during the Guinness Six Nations earlier this year.

Lisa Thomson, who recently competed in the Olympics with the GB Sevens team, returns to inside center, having missed last weekend’s victory over Wales. Emma Orr keeps her place at outside center.

The back three features Coreen Grant, Chloe Rollie—who scored two tries in the previous match against Wales—and Sevens specialist Rhona Lloyd.

For the bench, forwards Elis Martin, Lisa Cockburn, Christine Belisle, Eva Donaldson, and Evie Gallagher are poised to contribute, while backs replacements include last weekend’s debutants Leia Brebner-Holden and the outstanding Lucia Scott, along with Helen Nelson, who can provide reliable support.

The match will be available for live streaming on BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website and app in the UK, as well as on the Scottish Rugby website for international viewers.

The starting lineup for Scotland includes: Chloe Rollie, Rhona Lloyd, Emma Orr, Lisa Thomson, Coreen Grant, Meryl Smith, Caity Mattinson; Anne Young, Lana Skeldon, Elliann Clarke, Louise McMillan, Sarah Bonar, Rachel Malcolm, Rachel McLachlan, and Jade Konkel. The replacements are Elis Martin, Lisa Cockburn, Christine Belisle, Eva Donaldson, Evie Gallagher, Leia Brebner-Holden, Helen Nelson, and Lucia Scott.
