Darcy Graham is set to make a highly anticipated return to the Scotland national team after a 13-month absence. He has been named in a robust lineup to take on the Fiji Water Flying Fijians in the opening match of the autumn Test series at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on Sunday.

Graham’s last appearance for Scotland was during the World Cup match against Ireland in October 2023. He has since showcased his skills by participating in five of Edinburgh’s six games this season. His inclusion is critical as Scotland navigates this fixture without several key players due to the timing falling outside the international window. Notably absent are star names like Finn Russell, Ben White, and Blair Kinghorn.

In their place, the team will see Adam Hastings taking on the fly-half role, with Ali Price stepping in as scrum-half and Kyle Rowe filling the full-back position. Sione Tiupulotu, who recently earned the captaincy, will lead the side for the first time.

Rowe, who will accumulate his seventh cap during this match, is the only player in the starting lineup with fewer than ten caps, reflecting a strategically experienced side put forth by coach Gregor Townsend. Glasgow’s Tom Jordan will have the opportunity to make his international debut if selected from the bench, while Edinburgh’s D’Arcy Rae joins the substitutes with his single cap.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:40 AM Fiji Time, marking an exciting moment for Scottish rugby fans as the team gears up for a new season of competition.

This return is not just a personal milestone for Graham but also a testament to Scotland’s depth and resilience as they field a competitive team against a formidable opponent. Fans will be eager to see how this experienced side performs, paving the way for future successes in the series.
