The FIJI Water Flying Fijians faced a significant defeat against Scotland, losing 57-17 in their first match of the Northern Tour at Murrayfield. Scotland showcased their strength and tactical prowess, managing to disrupt the Fijian game and capitalizing on opportunities, which resulted in eight tries against their opponents.

Scottish winger Darcy Graham was a standout player, scoring four tries in the match, with outside centre Huw Jones contributing two more. Fullback Kyle Rowe and winger Duhan van der Merwe each added to the score, while Adam Hastings successfully converted seven attempts and kicked a penalty.

The Flying Fijians were dealt an early blow with two yellow cards issued to players Frank Lomani and Apisalome Vota within the first 20 minutes, compromising their ability to compete effectively against a relentless Scottish lineup. Nevertheless, Fiji demonstrated resilience, managing to score three tries thanks to contributions from fullback Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula, Meli Derenalagi, and Captain Tevita Ikaniere, with Armstrong-Ravula also converting one of the tries.

Looking ahead, Fiji will face Wales next Monday at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, providing an opportunity for the team to regroup and demonstrate their skills on the international stage once more.

The match lineup featured:

This gives supporters hope that the Flying Fijians can rise to the occasion in the coming matches.
