Schools in the Northern Division, Lau Group, and Lomaiviti remain closed due to ongoing disruptions in essential services and water supply, as well as risks associated with Tropical Cyclone Rae. This closure, confirmed by the Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, is a precautionary measure to ensure student safety amid adverse weather conditions affecting these areas.

In contrast, schools in the Western and Central Divisions will continue to operate, although parents are advised to exercise their discretion regarding sending their children to school, especially given the current weather risks. The Ministry of Education emphasizes the importance of communication, urging school heads to keep in close contact with their Management Committees and local authorities to receive timely updates.

This proactive approach to managing school operations during severe weather has been consistent with previous measures the Ministry has taken during similar situations, showcasing their commitment to prioritizing student safety. As the community faces these challenges, there is hope that through effective communication and mutual support, families will navigate this period safely.

Maintaining solidarity during such turbulent times is crucial, and the strong emphasis on preparedness will help ensure that students can return to their education promptly once the situation stabilizes.
