The Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, has announced the closure of schools tomorrow in response to a tropical cyclone alert. This precautionary measure comes after consultations with the National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO). In his statement, Mr. Radrodro emphasized the importance of safety and urged parents and guardians to take proactive steps to protect their children during these potentially hazardous weather conditions.

It is worth noting that schools outside the Lau Group, Lomaiviti, and Vanua Levu will remain operational despite the alert, highlighting a targeted approach to school management during extreme weather.

This announcement reflects prior actions taken by the Ministry of Education in similar situations, where safety has been prioritized, such as previous school closures during heavy rains and flooding. The ongoing commitment to ensuring the well-being of students is evident as authorities continuously monitor weather conditions and provide updates to the community.

Parents are encouraged to stay informed and follow updates from official sources to keep their families safe. With effective communication and precautionary measures, there is hope that students will remain safe while continuing their education in the face of nature’s challenges.
