Savusavu’s New Commercial Lot: A Game-Changer for Local Employment!

A new commercial development covering 1.14 hectares has been inaugurated in Qaraniqatio, Savusavu, which is projected to create approximately 100 job opportunities for local residents.

Minister for Land and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo, stated that this development will elevate the town’s profile and attract more visitors eager to experience the unique hospitality of the Tui Nasavusavu and the local community.

He emphasized that the project symbolizes economic advancement and will enhance the overall economic prospects of the area. The development encompasses a total of 11 lots within the 1.14-hectare state land, with adequate parking facilities for visitors.

Sanya Dayal, director of Land Planning, Surveying and Engineering Consultants Fiji, remarked that this initiative represents a significant progression for both the community and the economy. She noted that in collaboration with the ministry, comprehensive feasibility studies were conducted to ensure the project’s sustainability and to establish a robust commercial hub for the future.

Dayal further revealed that phase two of the project will include improvements to the electricity grid, water supply, and road infrastructure to support the commercial lots.
