Savusavu Fundraiser Faces Unexpected Roadblocks

Spread the love

A fundraiser aimed at renovating a hospital in Savusavu Town has hit a snag due to regulatory issues. The town had organized a festival to generate funds after securing a sponsorship agreement, which raised hopes for significant contributions towards the hospital’s renovation.

Town chair Shankar Singh expressed excitement about the event, noting that the sponsorship included a request to display the sponsor’s logo on certain boards. However, Mr. Singh revealed that they were informed by authorities that commercial billboards are not permitted in their reserves, which puts the fundraising event in jeopardy.

Despite these obstacles, Mr. Singh remains optimistic. “We’re hopeful that we can find a way forward and still hold the fundraiser to support the hospital,” he stated.

Questions regarding the regulations posed to the Fiji Roads Authority have yet to receive a response, highlighting the communication gaps that sometimes arise in such initiatives.

This situation, while challenging, underscores the community’s commitment to improving local health infrastructure. With determination and collaboration, it is possible that alternative solutions could be found to allow the fundraiser to proceed, ultimately benefiting the town’s healthcare services.

In summary, while the planned fundraiser faces obstacles due to regulatory issues, the community’s spirit and ongoing dialogue with authorities could pave the way for a successful event that supports the local hospital.
