The Public Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Sanjana Devi Lal as the Acting Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry. This decision was made in agreement with Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka.
Lal takes over from the former Acting Permanent Secretary, Rovereto Nayacalevu, who resigned last month and recently joined the Fiji Rugby Union as its Chief Executive.
PSC Chairman Luke Rokovada noted that Lal has nearly 30 years of experience in the Civil Service and has served as Conservator of Forests since March 2017. “She has the qualifications, knowledge, and experience to assume the role, and I am confident that she will be able to perform the duties required of her as the Acting Permanent Secretary for Fisheries and Forestry,” Rokovada said.
Lal holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry from the Australian National University and a Postgraduate Degree in Science.
