Samoan rugby clubs Marist St Joseph and Faleata Sports Domain are making a strong bid to become the first overseas teams to win the esteemed Fiji Bitter Marist Sevens tournament. Joseph Silver, a spokesperson for Marist St Joseph, expressed the club’s fervor for clinching the Cup. This sentiment was echoed by Mark Joseph Finau, manager of Faleata Sports Domain, who underscored their team’s competitive spirit.

The tournament, which kicked off today at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, is set to run until Saturday. Defending champions Army Green, guided by captain Inia Tawalo, are preparing rigorously to defend their title. Tawalo acknowledged the threat posed by other teams and stressed the importance of fundamentals, encouraging his squad to treat every match like a finals encounter.
