This year commemorates the 100th anniversary of the significant rivalry between Fiji and Samoa. The two teams first met on the pitch in 1924 when Fiji traveled to Samoa. Notably, the match started at 7 am to accommodate the Fijian team’s schedule, as they had to catch a boat back home later that day. This remarkable moment in rugby history underscores the deep and enduring connection between the two nations. The FIJI Water Flying Fijians and Samoa will compete in the opening match of the Pacific Nations Cup tomorrow at 6 pm in Suva.
