Setareki Turagacoke, an impressive 18-year-old talent, made his debut for the FIJI Water Flying Fijians in a triumphant 33-19 victory against Spain during their Europe Tour. The native of Dakuinuku, Sawakasa, from Korovou, Tailevu, not only marked his debut with a win but also made it memorable by scoring a try to contribute to the team’s comeback.

Turagacoke was a last-minute addition to the Flying Fijians squad last week, stepping in for the injured Temo Mayanavanua. He started on the bench but quickly showcased his skills when he entered the match in the second half.

Currently, Turagacoke plays for Stade Français Club in France, a move he made after finishing his Year 12 education at Lelean Memorial School in Nausori. He is a product of the Eastern Saints Rugby Academy, where he began his rugby journey at the age of 14, and he has also been part of the FRU HPU Pathway program.

As the Flying Fijians gear up for their final match against Ireland this weekend, Turagacoke’s debut signals optimism for the team’s future, and fans are likely to see more of his talent on display.

Overall, this story highlights the promising rise of young athletes in rugby, showcasing how nurturing youth talent can lead to extraordinary achievements on the international stage. Turagacoke’s journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring rugby players in Fiji and beyond, proving that with hard work and dedication, dreams can come true.
