The Serevi Rugby Academy has received a significant boost in its mission to develop rugby and empower young people in Fiji, thanks to a generous donation from Asco Motors, who provided a Toyota twin cab 4WD vehicle. This contribution allows founder Waisale Serevi and his team to enhance their outreach efforts, facilitating travel across the nation for rugby clinics and community programs aimed at engaging youth in positive activities.
Waisale Serevi, a respected figure in rugby and an advocate against drug abuse, emphasized the importance of this vehicle for expanding their initiatives. He stated, “Before this, we had to rely on rental cars to reach villages and communities. Now, we can expand our efforts and make a bigger impact.” Serevi believes that rugby is a powerful tool to guide young individuals away from negative influences and toward constructive life choices.
Expressing gratitude towards Asco Motors, Serevi highlighted that their vision goes beyond the rugby field. “We want to empower our youths, promote education, and raise awareness about the dangers of drugs. With this partnership, we can positively impact more young lives,” he said.
Asco Motors Fiji CEO Ronald Kumar echoed Serevi’s sentiments, reaffirming the company’s commitment to community development and road safety. He expressed pride in being part of an initiative that nurtures sporting talent while instilling essential life lessons. “The Serevi Academy of Rugby is making a meaningful impact, and we are honored to contribute to its mission,” Kumar remarked.
Serevi envisions the academy not only as a place to cultivate rugby skills but also as a platform to instill values like hope, discipline, and good citizenship among the youth of Fiji. After spending over 15 years in the United States, Serevi is dedicated to inspiring young athletes to represent Fiji with integrity, both on and off the field.
This partnership between Asco Motors and the Serevi Rugby Academy signifies a shared commitment to uplifting the next generation of athletes while promoting resilience and positive values. With its motto, “Stay Strong, Say No to Drugs,” the academy serves as a reminder of the importance of making constructive life choices.
Overall, Serevi’s unwavering dedication to youth mentorship through sports stands as a hopeful example of how athletic initiatives can guide young people toward brighter, more productive futures. The support from Asco Motors is more than just a donation; it is an investment in the future of Fiji, enabling the academy to extend its reach and strengthen the community.
