Rugby Tournament Raises Hope for New Church in Suva

The All Nations Christian Fellowship organized a successful two-day Epic 7s Tournament over the weekend at Prince Charles Park, concluding yesterday. The event attracted large crowds and aimed to raise funds for the construction of a new church, featuring participation from 20 senior men’s teams, 24 U21 teams, and five women’s teams, all competing for a noble cause while delivering exciting rugby action.

As part of a three-year plan, the church seeks to collect between $30,000 and $35,000 needed to build a new place of worship in Suva. The goal for the tournament was to raise between $20,000 and $25,000, and the church community expressed their satisfaction with the turnout and support.

Tournament Director Vilitati Galivia discussed their objectives, stating, “The main reason for this tournament is to build an All Nations Christian Fellowship Church in Suva. We already own land in Suva, but we need to construct our church, so our budget is around $30,000 to $35,000. We are implementing a three-year plan, and from this two-day 7s tournament, we hope to raise $20,000 to $25,000.”

The tournament included teams from the Western, Northern, and Eastern divisions. The Police team showcased their dominance throughout the competition, while teams from the Western and Northern divisions displayed impressive skill and sportsmanship, contributing to a highly competitive event.
