Rugby Team Honors Late Father with Semi-Final Victory

The Marist Brothers High School (MBHS) Under-15 rugby team honored the memory of their No.8 player, Senitiki Kuruvakadua, by dedicating their 22-7 victory in the Vodafone Deans Trophy semi-final against Gospel High School (GHS) to his late father.

In an interview with SUNsports on Saturday, MBHS U15 head coach Jone Temo attributed the win to divine intervention. He emphasized the importance of focus during the match, particularly in the second half. “I instructed the players to improve their line speed and defense against a formidable Gospel side,” he noted.

Looking ahead to the final match against Suva Grammar School, Temo mentioned the need for further preparations, including strengthening their tactics. “Most of our players are already athletes, so their fitness is generally good. We are dealing with minor injuries but are optimistic they will be ready for the final.”
