Racing 92 winger Vinaya Habosi has reportedly been taken into custody following a violent incident involving his partner. Reports from France indicate that Habosi was arrested on Sunday evening after an altercation at his home in Plessis-Robinson, Hauts-de-Seine, which occurred while he was intoxicated.

Witnesses informed a local publication that a heated argument escalated, resulting in Habosi allegedly pushing his wife while she was holding their baby. Following this, it is reported that he struck her in the back of the head after she fell to the ground. Fortunately, the child was not harmed during the incident, and Habosi’s partner declined assistance from emergency services, exhibiting no visible injuries.

Sources also indicated that Habosi appeared to be significantly intoxicated and denied the allegations of physical assault against his wife. The player had recently come off the bench for Racing 92 during their 33-20 victory against Clermont in the Top 14.

In response to the situation, Racing 92 issued a brief statement acknowledging the allegations against Habosi, stating that they would refrain from further comment until more information is available from the authorities. This incident is not Habosi’s first alleged involvement in domestic abuse; he joined Racing 92 ahead of schedule last year after the Fijian Drua terminated his contract following complaints of assault made at the Namaka Police Station in February of the same year.
