The Vodafone Cup national semifinals are set to take place this Saturday at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori. The match-ups come after last weekend’s quarterfinals, where notable teams such as the Dee Cees Nadera Panthers and the Saru Dragons were eliminated from the tournament.
In one semifinal, the Waitaci Titans will compete against the Navy Albatross, who secured their place by defeating the defending champions, the Saru Dragons, with a score of 27-18. In another exciting matchup, the Ravoravo Rabbitohs will go head-to-head with the Vusu Raiders, both looking to earn a spot in the finals.
FNRL Executive Chairman Akuila Masi expressed his excitement for the upcoming matches, stating, “Last weekend was a spectacle of rugby league talent, and we’re anticipating the semi-finals will raise the bar even higher. We invite everyone to come and experience the thrill and cheer on their favorite teams.”
In addition to the men’s semifinals, the FNRL Women’s Premiership semifinals will also be held simultaneously, featuring the Lami Steelers competing against the Yasawa Saints and the Namoli West Tigers facing the Police Sharks. This double-header promises a full day of rugby league action for fans in Nausori.
