The Vodafone Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League finals are set to take center stage at Churchill Park in Lautoka tomorrow, featuring six schools ready to showcase their talent. Ba Provincial High School Under-19 captain Sisa Vuniwaqa expressed confidence in his team’s preparation, stating they are geared up for a fierce challenge against Ra High School. Despite their previous encounters, Vuniwaqa noted that they are treating this match as a fresh opportunity to give their best.
On the other side, Ra High School captain Taniela Daroya is hopeful for strong support from the community, encouraging spectators to come out in numbers to cheer for their team. The anticipation for this showdown is palpable, with both teams eager to demonstrate their skills on the rugby field.
The finals will feature Ba Pro Dragons going up against Ra High Roosters in the Under-19 category, while the Under-17s will see Sigatoka Valley Cowboys compete against Ba Pro Dragons. In the Under-15 final, MGM Dragons will face Marist Storms.
FSSRL Media officer, Mr. Lai Corerega, has confirmed that preparations for the finals are going well and thanked Vodafone for its sponsorship of this celebrated annual event. Ticket pricing has been set affordably to ensure community engagement, with general admission prices starting at $10 for ground access, up to $15 for grandstand seating, and a $5 ticket option for children under 12.
The finals kick off at 9:30 AM with the Naitasiri Warrior Girls facing the Ra Roosters school Girls, proceeding through various age categories until the Under-19 match concludes at 2:15 PM.
