Jone Koroiduadua, a talented prop from Fiji Water Flying Fijians, has reached an important career milestone by signing with the New England Free Jacks in Major League Rugby for the 2025 season. At just 25 years old, Koroiduadua, who comes from Sigatoka on Fiji’s Coral Coast, is recognized as one of the nation’s most promising rugby players.
The Free Jacks organization highlights Koroiduadua’s impressive physicality and strength, which they believe will enhance the team’s front row. Having played over 20 matches for the Fijian Drua in the Super Rugby Pacific competition, he brings substantial experience and skill to his new role. Additionally, Koroiduadua has represented the Flying Fijians on the international stage, earning two caps, including participation in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.
Koroiduadua also plays for Nadroga, the most successful provincial team in Fiji’s rugby history, and has international experience from two years spent with the French Top 14 club ASM Clermont Auvergne. He has even played for the national rugby league team, Vodafone Fiji Bati. Known for being a dominant scrummager on either side of the scrum, he was instrumental in the strength of the Fijian Drua’s scrum in the previous season.
The Free Jacks are optimistic that Koroiduadua’s powerful presence and ability to perform in collisions, both with and without the ball, will be a significant asset to their forward pack.
This signing reflects not only Koroiduadua’s hard work and dedication but also the growing opportunities for Pacific Island players in international leagues, paving the way for more aspiring athletes from the region. With his talent and determination, Koroiduadua is sure to make an impact in Major League Rugby and continue to elevate Pacific rugby’s global presence.
