Sera Bolatini’s journey into the world of rugby sevens, specifically with the Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s team, showcases her remarkable versatility as an athlete. The Ovalau native recently participated in a training session with the squad at Bidesi Park in Laucala Bay, Suva.

“I had always played rugby from a very young age. My friends played it, and the more I was around them, the more I developed a passion for the sport,” she shared. This passion began to take shape during her time with the Assemblies of God High School women’s rugby team in 2019 and continued with the Namosi team in 2020.
Since then, Bolatini has made significant strides, playing for the Marist Women’s rugby club and, in 2023, securing her place with the Fijian Drua. Now, she aims to earn a position in the final team representing Fiji in the upcoming World Rugby Women’s Sevens Series. She emphasizes that hard work and a positive mindset are essential principles to achieving her goals.
