Oceania Rugby has initiated the inaugural Match Official High-Performance Camp in Nadi, in partnership with World Rugby and supported by the Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade through the PacificAus Sports program. This innovative initiative is designed to improve officiating standards and refine skills throughout the Oceania region.

Richard Sapias, President of Oceania Rugby, remarked, “Launching this camp in Fiji highlights our commitment to developing match officials and fostering excellence in the sport.”

The camp includes a variety of intensive training sessions, workshops, and discussions facilitated by experienced referees and educators from World Rugby. It presents a valuable opportunity for match officials to enhance their skills, stay updated on the latest officiating techniques, and foster relationships within the community.

Frank Puletua, General Manager of Oceania Rugby, stressed the importance of the camp in boosting the capabilities of local officials. “We are making considerable strides in developing our officials and striving for higher standards and competencies,” he stated.
