As the school holidays began on August 26, students expressed their excitement for the Fiji Sports Council’s “Give it a Go” sports program, which is being co-hosted by the Fiji Sports Council and the Fiji National Sports Commission.
This initiative brings together a range of sports partners, including soccer, swimming, taekwondo, hockey, and the NRL team, which is eager to reconnect with participants and promote Rugby League among children during the holiday period.
One standout participant, 15-year-old Meehika Singh from Jai Narayan College, caught the attention of the development team with her talent and enthusiasm. She reflected on her experience with the program, stating, “I love this program because it’s very engaging and fun for all ages. I was thrilled to see the NRL involved in ‘Give it a Go,’ as it reminded me of my participation back in 2016 at Nehru Primary, where I received a rugby league ball and a certificate for being the most engaging participant. It was an unforgettable experience.”
Meehika expressed her joy at seeing the NRL team again and her enthusiasm for joining the program. The “Give it a Go” program will run until Friday, September 6, in Suva.
