Rugby Legend Waisale Serevi Eyes Fiji Political Run

Rugby 7s icon Waisale Serevi has expressed his interest in running for office in the upcoming election. In a recent interview, Serevi remarked that he would love the chance to contest, indicating that he might consider this move in the near future. He believes his extensive contributions to the rugby community and the support he has received from his country have motivated him to seek a role in politics, viewing it as an opportunity to further serve the people of Fiji.

Serevi stated, “I’ve already done a lot in rugby, I’ve helped people and rugby communities, and maybe with the elections it’s an opportunity to serve the community of Fiji.” He is currently exploring his options, pondering which political party to align with or possibly running as an independent candidate. “At the moment I’m just praying to God which party to go with,” he added, emphasizing his thoughtful approach to this potential career shift.

Despite his lack of direct experience in politics, Serevi’s deep-rooted passion for community service, coupled with his patriotic spirit and strong connection with the people, positions him as a compelling candidate. His decision to enter the political arena could inspire others and serve as a beacon of hope for improved community engagement and development in Fiji.
