This year will see a new champion of the Vodafone Cup as the defending titleholder, Saru Dragons, has been knocked out in the semi-finals. Navy Albatross managed to secure a surprising victory over Saru Dragons with a score of 27-18 during the final quarter-final match held at Lawaqa Park over the weekend.

In other quarter-final matches, Vusu Raiders emerged victorious against Topline Warriors with a score of 30-20, while Waitaci Titans narrowly defeated Nadera Panthers 32-28. Ravoravo Rabbitohs also won their match, beating Laselase Cowboys 24-18.

Vusu Raiders’ team manager, Solomoni Tuqiri, acknowledges the challenges ahead. “The semi-final stage is different, and we will go back and regroup to come back stronger for the semi-final against Ravoravo Rabbitohs,” Tuqiri stated.

This week’s semi-final matchups will feature Vusu Raiders facing Ravoravo Rabbitohs, and Navy Albatross going up against Waitaci Titans.
