A new champion for the Vodafone Cup will be determined this year as the defending titleholders, Saru Dragons, have been knocked out in the semi-finals.

In a surprising turn of events, Navy Albatross secured a victory against Saru Dragons with a score of 27-18 in the final quarter-final match held at Lawaqa Park over the weekend.

Other quarter-final outcomes included Vusu Raiders defeating Topline Warriors 30-20, Waitaci Titans narrowly edging out Nadera Panthers 32-28, and Ravoravo Rabbitohs winning against Laselase Cowboys 24-18.

Vusu Raiders team manager Solomoni Tuqiri acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating, “The semi-final stage is different and we will go back and regroup and come back stronger in the semi-final against Ravoravo Rabbitohs.”

This week’s semi-final matchups will feature Vusu Raiders versus Ravoravo Rabbitohs, while Navy Albatross will take on Waitaci Titans in the second semi-final.
